Amazing5
I wanted to buy an iPod for my girlfriend. After reading some reviews from this site and other specialized sites I found out that iPod isn't that good on audio quality. My opinion is that audio quality is the most important thing on an audio player. Ok...I know that MP3 format isn't for audiophiles but anyway. So I decided to buy this Sony.
First of all the sound quality is superb, even with the supplied headphones. Of course on a serious pair of headphones you will be amazed. The screen is excellent too, good resolution excellent image quality. The computer will see it as a "walkman" and it will behave as an ordinary memory stick. The transfer speed is great too. I have to agree that iPod wins regarding the controls, the click wheal is very easy to use, but the Sony is also very easy and intuitive to use.
I used an iPod so I know what I am saying. I also think that iPod's are overpriced and I would recommend the Sony to everybody who wants a small excellent sounding, portable MP3 player. I almost forgot...the build quality is superb too.

A beloved gadget5
I had used an inexpensive mp3 player with limited storage space to find out if I'd really like it before spending for more storage space and options. I used it all the time, so then the educated shopping began.

I found that by all accounts, this 4GB Sony Walkman would suit my needs, and this has proven true. I use Windows Media Player to load my music, and I drag and drop audio books and sermons from a file on my desktop. I use this little gadget everyday, and I love it. The sound quality is terrific, and loading data is really a simple process that only takes a couple of minutes, so it's no trouble at all.

I haven't figured out the video function yet (except for watching the preloaded movie trailer), but that's not why I really bought it. It has an FM radio as well, which I assume would receive better outside. I don't listen to the radio as much as the audio books and music, but it's nice to know it's there. I have some family photos stored which are easily accessible and you can set them to be shown horizontally or vertically.

All in all, I would highly recommend this mp3 player. I have no complaints with it, use it every day, and plan to learn more of its functions over time. Oh, and I chose it in pink so that my husband and sons wouldn't take it from me. One of my sons liked mine so much that he got a 2GB in black.

Sony Makes A Comeback5
I picked this up after taking a look at different simple flash based mp3 players. My concerns were mostly cost and software related. I did not want a player which relied on bloated software or poorly designed software. I could live with less elegant navigation if the transfer of music and files did not require clunky software. This Sony Walkman fulfills the criteria and a bit more.

Pros:
1. Drag and drop! Music and videos may be added without software, just drag the files to corresponding folders
2. Works with Windows Media Player 11, it syncs very easily (ability to make playlists easily)
3. Simple user interface, buttons are named properly, operates very smoothly

Cons:
1. Display is plastic, not glass, will scratch very easily
2. Case is completely plastic

The Cons definitely weigh less than pros. It's a good buy for about $100. I don't have an opinion on the sound quality, music sounds best when paired with better headphones. The stock headphones are white for this model, anticipate buying another set if white is not desired.
